Does Science Have Answers to all That Ails Man?
Conspiracy theory, country or Government conspiracy or not, the coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic that suddenly ambushed the world defying scientific research/knowledge, laboratories and advanced technology which quest for its cure or solution has been to no avail, got me thinking again. Many precautionary and preventive measures have been prescribed; yet, this pandemic has not stopped ravishing and ravaging humans. As several thousands of coronavirus cases are recorded all over the world and as many people are buried every day, one cannot help but ask questions and imagine if these are not pointers to the quiet or un-obtrusive existence of something bigger and greater than MAN and Human Knowledge.
Taking it a step further, it could all be pointers to and confirmation that our world is ruled by A POWER beyond us. ‘The Higher Power’ that permits humans to show forth their skills, intelligence, intellectual know-how, abilities, innovative ideas almost to the point of at which the human person exhausts all he knows and is capable of. ‘The Supreme Being’ then steps in to display His incomprehensible power. When all human logic, science, technology, philosophy and all else have failed, the “Higher Power” is imminent. I recall a similar experience in the scriptures when the Egyptians were visited with plagues. As the plagues were miraculously brought to existence so did they mysteriously disappear. Similarly today, the fear of coronavirus could be the beginning of wisdom as a mere virus is now the bane of the existence of humans and their world. Nations, Parastatals, Institutions – service, religious, entertainment, educational – are on lock-down. Travel bans, flight cancellations; business shut-down, world market collapse, movement restrictions, recession etc. are the physical manifestations of the effect of COVID-19. This age perhaps needs a reconnection with ‘The Sovereign’, the “Someone Above” who owns the world to escape this present plague or far worse plagues which may not necessarily be medical but that could befall the world today or in the nearest future.
World superpowers have developed lethal self-driven nuclear weapons, automated missiles, drone weaponry through which they have put fear in the hearts of so many regarding the extent to which their destructive tendencies can go. Today, however, these world powers in the quest for world supremacy now cower under the invasion of Corona. The world has experienced great scientific innovations and discoveries that have improved life and living but a cure or vaccine for COVID-19 has proved evasive. Medicine over time and new and advanced technological know-how have proven themselves but today, medicine is not good enough – there are not sufficient medical places or facilities or even personnel as medical services are overwhelmed.
This brings me to say, the Universe has got a CEO who is not you and I or any world power. So, regardless of who we are or what we think, acknowledging the ‘Someone Above CEO’, should be an essential part of the human thought process and of our living and continuous existence without which the world and Man would self-destruct. The world is grieving today and groaning under the pains of COVID-19. The challenges of this era which are manifesting in overwhelming universal disasters require hitherto-ignored spiritual or higher intervention.
I recently read an article on President Trump’s day of prayer for a coronavirus-free Christian America. He is quoted to have tweeted in all caps: “TODAY IS A NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER, GOD BLESS EVERYONE” (Haaretz.com). Similarly, be it made-up or not an interesting quote has been attributed to The Italian Prime Minister Conte: “all solutions are exhausted on ground … our only hope remains up in the sky. God rescue your people”.

This is not a religious article but if the solution the world is in dire need of, lies in God, then let us go to God. Perhaps if we did not see God as just a religious symbol and invited Him into all our institutions then the world would be heading towards giving its people a glorious experience in a new world order administered by The Supreme One.
Business As Usual After COVID-19?
So, after COVID-19, will man still consider himself king and ruler of the earth/world and so live as he so pleases? Will man continue to live in deviation to the laws – natural, physical and spiritual?
