‘… I went to college. Graduated but I am unemployed due to the failure of government. I could not get a job despite my efforts. It is how I got involved in gangsterism and today, I am one of the notorious gang leaders …’

The society is unfair and unjust, right? Otherwise, why should one/parents struggle and make sacrifices to pay through college juggling two to three jobs and after it all, I cannot get a job? The state of the Nation arising from failed systems compounds the matter and has made living and survival a pain. Correct again, right? What should be the next line of action under these circumstances?

Should it be engaging in crime, gangsterism and other ills within the society? After all the society needs some level or degree of dysfunction for survival and proper functioning. Would love to hear your views.

  1. Govt cannot and is unable to employ all. However, they are to create the enabling environment and encourage private investments that will employ more people

  2. There’s a difference between unemployed and unemployed and not employable. Many graduates are unemployed because:
    1. Not trained to be employed. This is a big omission on the part of the school systems; 2. The individual does not make efforts to do what can make him/her to be employed; 3. Most cases, first degree is to kick start/preparatory stage, not really for employment
